Thanks for the input, will weigh out the differences.
windows live mail kept telling me it was going to stop working and kept reminding me of the date that would happen (sometime last summer) and it really did. just quit downloading messages or sending messages - would no longer connect to the mail servers for the 4 mail accounts i had in there. i paid for an outlook program but it is a poor substitute,Same with Windows Live Mail. I tried switching to other email programs, but finally just went back. You can still use you mail program even if it will no longer be serviced. Just stick with what you have. No need to change

Hotmail runs thru live in outlook on my computer.Windows Live Mail.
Have been entertaining the idea of gmail, which I found to be similar in many aspects, perhaps a slight learning curve
