The best course I have taken ever, was a combination of AI, ASA, NAIFA, IAMA, ASFMRA, seminar in Denver. It was a series of valuation topics on valuing minerals, mines, etc. The audience was made up of some of the premier appraisers in resource valuations - from geothermal to quarries, mines, and oil wells, both domestically and internationally. Several things stood out. The 14-hour course was started at noon. That evening we had a big reception and dinner. The next day was 2 3-hour sessions and a luncheon speaker. Day 3 we finished up at noon. This more leisurely pace than packing in 7-hour days was much more relaxing and gave a lot of time for us to acquaint ourselves with some of the other students who had the specialized knowledge in our field. I learned far more than a simple cram it all in 2 days class.
