Just PASS of FAIL. No grades are issued.
Th grading system is a mystery no doubt. Grades were supossed to go out in 30 days and it took almost 60 days.
The questions were difficult, but I do test well. Give me four multiple choice answers and I am pretty good at finding the best answer.
I am happy to accect the pass and will try to learn some more about USPAP each day.
Bob
Congrats to all of you with a passing grade. This course and the mystery surrounding the grading of the examination was a hot topic of discussion at the AARO conference over the weekend. Plenty of rumor, very few facts. Although both Dave Bunton and Jim Park from the Appraisal Foundation were at the conference, I did not sit down and talk with either about this specific topic.
Here are some facts from the AQB:
-----------------------------------------
As of April 26, the following statistics apply to the Instructor Certification Courses:
•343 Instructors have applied to the Program
•160 Instructors have taken the Instructor Certification Course
•105 Instructors have passed the Instructor Certification Course
•55 Instructors have failed the Instructor Certification Course
-----------------------------------------
Notice there is no mention made of passing the examination. Hate to parse words, but words are their specialty.
Not quite sure how it is done in other states, but the manner in which this course was presented, tested and scored would render it ineligible for Licensing Credit in the State of Florida. Here in the Sunshine State, the objectives of the course must be clearly stated at the beginning along with the specific requirements for acheiving a passing grade on the end of course examination. This would include a disclosure of what is a passing score.
Granted, the offering of the Instructor Certification Course is a special situation, but given the specificity by which the AQB judges courses offered by others and licensing and certification examinations administered by states, there is an appearance the strict criteria imposed upon others was bent a bit by the AQB. Subjectivity versus Objectivity.
