USPAP update has been that way for sometime, cant remember when it changed

Illinois Administrative Code said:
3) A real estate appraiser must complete the 7-hour National USPAP Update Course or its equivalent as determined by the AQB or an alternate method established by the AQB taught by an AQB certified instructor who also hold a current appraiser certification by a state during each pre-renewal period prior to renewing or converting his or her real estate appraiser license, unless the real estate appraiser was issued his or her initial license for a period of less than 185 days prior to the expiration date. A real estate appraiser must complete the 7-hour National USPAP Update Course or its equivalent by June 30 of an even-numbered year, following the release of USPAP. Those real estate appraisers issued a license more than 6 months after the effective date of USPAP shall complete the 7-hour National USPAP Update Course within 6 months after licensure.

all CE starting 2019

Illinois Administrative Code said:
5) Beginning in 2019, and for each renewal thereafter, a licensee seeking renewal shall complete CE by the June 30 CE Completion Deadline. The Division shall conduct audits to verify compliance with this Section. If, during an audit, the Division determines that a licensee may be deficient in complying with CE requirements, the Division may notify the licensee of the possible deficiency. The licensee shall have until the September 30 Renewal Deadline to submit to the Division evidence of compliance with CE requirements.

found on a random website "This has been Illinois law since January 20, 2011 which means that it was meant to begin with the 2012-2013 release of USPAP.'

This has been a part of law for several renewal cycles now. Are you a member of ICAP or any other professional association of appraiser? If not, time to join and be in the know. Next renewal cycle, if not all 28 CE hours completed by 6/30, there will be penalties ($100/hr) for the deficiencies.

I remember taking the 7-hour USPAP in one of my first 2-year cycles as an appraiser just a few months before the next one went into effect. The 6-month requirement seems reasonable to me. Actually, it seems that we should take this class in the autumn before the new 2-year cycle goes into effect, though I know it is tough to corral all licensed appraisers into a 7-hour class with a span of a few months.

After 27 yrs doing this cant wait to get out and retire soon. If it wasnt for the emails from CE schools or my occasional use of this chat board i would not know D...K.

Not Brians Fault ( If he even is still in control? !! ) they always say no money. I remember last renewal all schools were sending emails to me that CE had to be done buy June or so, then that turns out that was BS but is now true for 2019.?
The only time i hear anything from the state is when they send renewal info for my money. I did membership for ICAP Decades ago, so just pay more money to be informed, ive got enough with all sucking the life out of my fees.
So get on the high horses now and bash this post, As usual sorry for even posting for info...Just my rant for today..
Thank You

Arkansas has required USPAP even years by our due date, June 30. USPAP required in person. No step for a stepper. All our CE is sent to state with form signed by instructor. So we renew on line, we are emailed back within hours with our new license we can print ourselves or mail them a letter asking for a pocket card.

I honestly don’t know what all the fuss is. After all, USPAP is our “friend”, shouldn’t we be happy to welcome our friend every other year?

Like a friend that never stops talking, repeating himself over and over, never taking a breath, and only once in a great while injecting a small nugget of information that you hadn't already heard at least 10 times and you're stuck in a car with him on a 7 hour drive in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
