So we need this by July 1st of this year?

That's my understanding, yes, and I believe it's correct.

I mean, hey, you can't hesitate when there's things like the redefining of "assumption" on the line.

Agreed, surprisingly little info online about it. And I called idfpr and the service that answered clearly had no idea. They used to have an appraisal newsletter and more general info, Lee or Brian are you guys still around??

This has been hammered at us since last year when it was announced. ICAP reminds us in emails many times this year. Its been covered at the ICAP summer seminars. The USPAP instructor I always take from has sent reminder emails. I think there has been a ton of communication about this. ICAP membership is well worth the $85 or whatever it is, just for communication of these issues.

I know what I do every day, how I do an appraisal. Y'would think that would be what USPAP would be about. It isn't. Its about a theoretical concept of documenting all theory, adjustments, and data to all people, judged by people who don't do appraisals.

I took my USPAP in March, then I just took another course three weeks ago and it was mentioned that the new guideline/requirement is within 6 months of the new USPAP time frame ( I don't think it's etched in concrete yet) (2018-2019, i.e. how can you be in compliance with the applicable USPAP requirements if you don't know what they are)

ICAP (I'm a Director...again :) ) is very good at reminding its members :) of this requirement.

Better get busy! :)

This requirement has been in effect beginning with the 2012-2013. This was pushed (recommended into law) by the then Appraisal Board as it didn't seem to make much sense for appraisers to be taking the update class a few months before the expiration.
