Got a stip to provide interior bedroom photos on a VA Appraisal. I wrote back that VA doesn't require bedroom photos. Inspected the bedrooms, but did not take photos.

Just got this email from them,

"I have just spoken to the VA in there appraisal department and they have confirmed they do require bedroom photos.

Thank you,"

Was there a new circular I missed?

Wow - i am still 100% no bedroom photos in the report for VA camp. If that is a change it is news to me.

Bedroom photos are not required. Contact your RLC. I am not buying the lender's reply that the bedroom photos are required by the VA. Bedroom photos are not required by the VA's Roanoke RLC. Your VA RLC may be different. Sounds like the lender is making up their own VA appraisal rules.

Bedroom photos are not required by the VA; only the main living areas, kitchens and all bathrooms according to the circular. If the lender wants bedroom pictures, it is considered a lender overlay and you can charge an extra fee for the additional services.

Never believe what anyone but the VA tells you, in writing. Bedroom photos have never been required, are not now required, and likely never will be. However, I usually include them to show overall condition of the subject property.

While bedroom photos are not required, that doesnt mean that when they called VA that she wasn't told they were. I would simply email the question to the VA and then you have it in writing.

It is already in writing, in the VA Handbook.

Yeah, we know that, it would add further clarification if stated in an email from the VA.
