I missed the part in USPAP where it says speed equals competency.)joke.

Why would they set such a low fee the goal is to do a review of the key element of value, comp selection, in 30 minutes?

It takes 10 minutes to download and read a report and see what comps they used; on deliver end often client websites take 10 minutes to upload because they keep kicking a report back for format . Which leaves 10 minutes for appraiser to research and verify and perform analysis of comparable sales. Pathetic.

It's likely they might give you a list of several to do. Or maybe a dozen. Do them at your leisure between other assignments.

Is that how they assign? do at your leisure? If so, maybe, but every experience I have ever had with companies like this is about tight turn times and harassment to update the website.

I suspect this is a large, ongoing project. There may be some need for not dragging things out (because they have to get paid as they go and they have these things going all over the country.) But I doubt if turn time is like it might be if some loan officer was waiting for their commission.

Whatever. If anyone does them, would be interested to hear their comnets on turn time, volume, if they think the fee is adequate

Whatever? Whatever? I just had a flame war on messenger with my daughter for saying that. lol

It might go something like "Okay, so you're interested. How many a week do you want?"

"How about 10 per week until I see if I like it."

"Okay, here's your first 10. When those are done we'll send you 10 more."

It's not for everyone. I don't particularly like doing one off, complex assignments because once I figure it out I get bored and don't want to type all the crap that has to be in the report. With these things, spending a half hour figure out a simple problem and then sending it off to the cornfield kind of appeals to me. Maybe not as a primary source of income, but some extra spending money. Sounds like easy work. (Not in my area, but in urban/suburban areas maybe.

LOL.

Well OK. I'm not sure which of these Manifestos they have modeled themselves after.

Manifesto: The Mad Farmer Liberation Front

An Incomplete Manifesto for Growth - http://www.manifestoproject.it/bruce-mau/

  1. [*]Allow events to change you. You have to be willing to grow. Growth is different from something that happens to you. You produce it. You live it. The prerequisites for growth: the openness to experience events and the willingness to be changed by them.
    [*]
[*]Forget about good. Good is a known quantity. Good is what we all agree on. Growth is not necessarily good. Growth is an exploration of unlit recesses that may or may not yield to our research. As long as you stick to good you’ll never have real growth.
    [*]
[*]Process is more important than outcome. When the outcome drives the process we will only ever go to where we’ve already been. If process drives outcome we may not know where we’re going, but we will know we want to be there.
