Thinking of going to valuation expo this year but have never been. Looking to gain more clients and make some new connections. Any input would be appreciated.

You better look over Joan's buddy list...LSI, PVC, Streetlinks, etc. before you get too excited. All those high paying AMCs that you want to connect with! And while you are there, do not forgot to sign up with Clearbox.

I'd suggest you go and see what's up.

While there you can "appraise" the AMCs and other potential clients that show up and decide who you might want to do business with. And the expo usually offers some continuing ed. courses.

Worst case is you get to spend a few (business expense) days in Vegas.

I would like to go but all it seems to be is AMC's which doesn't really push me to go. I like networking and meeting new people in the business. If I can get a cheap flight and hotel I might do it.

Ask to be a speaker, looks like there is an application on the website for the expo. Next year a group of us should go and reserve spots as speakers so the regulators going to this fraud fest could hear the truth about what is going on in appraising.

The two times I attended in Orlando it was worth the bucks. CE was good, liked talking to the Disto guys and other software companies. Met a few people from the Forum and was able to write it off. Enjoy it for what it's worth, just don't get your hope up about acquiring good clients.

And every major lender in the country will be there. if you can't figure out how to make 1000 fold the cost of attendance you have a social disorder. Seriously... This is low hanging fruit. The lenders and AMCs recognize that serious professions show up for conferences. They want to do business with you.

The best thing about our format is you have a new speaker every 45 minutes. So if one bombs, and there are always one or two, you don't suffer too long. Fun trade show.

And yes, Clearbox... We will be serving koolaid at our booth

I had a blast. I spoke first and then had to boogie to the airport. I had dinner with Crispin the night before. I was a little rough on the Fannie guys

The only ones I remember were the scum bag AMCs, which none of them pay more than $225 for a SFR 1004. Thank you no, I do not want to connect with them!
