Vandalay Appraisals

I am on a couple dozen AMC lists and I only accept logical fees and turn times for my work. But this Vandalay Appraisals is classic. Very laughable. They have sent me like four requests in the last month and here are the fees.
Field Review: $25
Drive By: $75
Full 1004: $125
All four times I email them back declining assignment unless they increase the fee significantly. Finally, today I got the 1004 order for $125 and I responded "Do people really do these for this fee?" and the response was "yes, I will reassign, thanks". Really? Who does this? I made more per hour as a bus boy with tips when I was 16 yrs old. Who are they? Maybe they are bus boys?

Most likely an appraiser who accepts very low fees and wants to make money by doing no work. A proper field review will take 8 hours where I am so they want someone to work for $3.13/hour.

......I saw a posting on Craigslist (see 2nd from the last page of this memo) on June 19, 2009 for the need of a Certified Level Appraiser. The fee’s they offered were ridiculously low so another certified appraiser friend of mine responded to the ad in order to find out who these clowns were. The last page of this memo is the response e-mail he received. Note: the fees they offer in their e-mail response are lower than the already ridiculously low fees they advertise on their Craigslist ad…here is my take on things.......

It appears this guy is another piece of garbage.
