Let me begin by saying I don't disagree with what Pam is saying in her messages to the public. What I have a problem with is in the interviews that I have seen and read Pam never seems to put any of the blame on the appraisers that commited the fraud or agreed to "bump up the appraisal to hit the number" so the lenders would be happy. These appraisers are the major problem we face and strong enforcement of existing laws and regulations are the only true answer in my opinion. If I am wrong and Pam has also been fighting the corrupt and dishonest appraisers I appologize for my earlier post, but I just haven't seen her saying it in the interviews I've seen and read.

To me Pam sounds like one of the criminals that stands in court and tells the story of how his parents mistreated him therefor he had to commit all of those murders! Yes exagerated but you get the point.

I believe what George Dodd and others are doing is the right thing and hope the board takes action sooner rather than later. I have signed the petition and have spoken to the board in regards to this and several other issues including what I feel is a lack of strick enforcement.

I do not use my real name on this forum as my employer asked our entire organization not too, so it can't be used against us like it has been against other appraisers on this forum, not because I have something to hide.

In that case you were way out of line. Pam has worked closely with George Dodd and many others on many different fronts including enforcement of appraiser discipline.

Maybe you are not aware of the MortgageFraudWatchList web site that she founded. Where coercing order forms can be reported by subject address giving the clients a place to find addresses to watch out for. Member clients and enforcement agencies are able to monitor to know if some appraiser shopping client hooks up with some number hitting appraiser.

There is a long list of accomplishments and ongoing efforts that aim to hold appraisers and others equally accountable.

Since you admit you knew nothing about her work in this area I think you owe her a better appology. This time don't mess it up with a further insult.

SMF; IF you put in one fourth the effort to assist in cleaning up the Appraisal Profession as Pam has,. then you'll have done more than many others. You say your in "organization" How many concerned Appraisers & Trainees in that "organization"??

Look at some of the "NEW IMPROVED" Laws being brought before congress for Appraisers. What Congress & Senators are the sponsors from??? PA the AMC Capitol of the world.

I agree with you on the larger point, but you do recall that you only use your first name in your posts, right? I'm not hassling you, but you've brought up using real names several times recently, even though you just go by "Karl".


FTR - I use my last name and have the township I live in listed. There is only one "Stone" there, so I'm not too hard to find.

I realize the Karl goes back to the original forum. I was around before this one existed, as well. I just read the e-mail updates and didn't post. Heck, I don't think I posted on this one for about a year after it started. Maybe a little less.

I'm not looking for your info, but it sure doesn't seem reasonable to hassle others for using a screen name when you are only using your first name. Maybe include it in the info by the post count, or in your profile.

TC has done the same thing from time to time and he has been called on it as well. I think he now keeps his name in his profile.

I do agree with the rest of your post regarding SMF.

Pam, can you confirm that you have never signed up for any AMC or ever used a portal?
