Warning. Its the IPAD

33.04'
14.97'
69.98'

Really? The world will NOT end if you say 33' or 15' or 70'. I use a Disto D5, does just fine.

The GSE police will haul your azz away for using whole measurements lol

Using scan to sketch with alamode.

Simple 6 sided home.

Attached are the results. Per my very small sample size, it appears to be the IPAD.

IPAD: 996 SQFT. second try 1,025 sqft. 1,049 sqft

Disto: 1,135 sqft.

Iphone: 1,158 sqft. 1,124 sqft, 1,130 sqft.

As you know, total for mobile is a sketch first program...then you do the rest.

I know many are jumping the gun to purchase a ipad with lidar...1. Doesn't have a wide angle rear camera and it appears to be less accurate than the iPhone. 2. Camera sucks.

The only trade off is the larger screen?

Hope this helps.

nice comparison that house would take an additional 40 seconds to measure with my laser as I walk around the house taking pics. It's these posts than ground me and my thinking I'll never ditch my green laser

i agree for the most part. Scan to sketch comes in handy when you have homes with over grown shrubs or few points to aim the disto or a home with many corners.

Im slowing down. Getting slower. I do not have the same drive as I did 20 years ago. Never was a churn and burn appraiser anyway.

The real issue is the next generation of appraisers....for the most part, they will not even measure a home. They will rely 100% on a lidar device.

Just like all of these adjustment programs. Blind leading the blind. It maybe right or it maybe wrong. They will truly never know...how would they know? They don't have the experience or the know how to recognize when it is wrong?

. It's the new.....I was trained this why....my mentor taught me this.....my bad...can't blame the mentor anymore....got a new way out...its the software. The software made me do it.

Fwiw, if you do not need lidar go with the high end samsung tablet. So much better.

I realize this is a team situation or a Ford or a Chevy situation, but I drive Toyota and a Lexus.

I make my choices on what is the best and not what is cool or popular.

Good man Toyo or Lexus is the best though my CRV can't be beat for overall size and utility...

And they had to pry my wheel from my cold dead hand it took me a while to embrace a laser so I'm not afraid of change. But when I think I've reached maximum efficiency it's going to take a lot to change my mind. And don't get me started on Apple lol I loathe their entire ecosystem. My daughter starts training any day now she'll get a shiny new Bosch green laser but I'll happily inform her of these new technologies coming down the pike

A laser would save me time on about 25% of the homes I see. Not worth the trouble
