Correct on all counts. Very simple as you outlined, the NCAB Rules show a speficic way to state what kind of appraiser you are. The reason is so the use of titles and advertising will not be misleading to lenders, the public or others..

It is very simple, yet an awful lot of appraisers are not in compliance. I never heard of the board doing anything about it except telling you to change to the correct wording.

Why do we use a seal? I have no clue.

By the way, we owe a lot to NAR -- specifically the NC Chapter of NAR's Appraisal Section. They used their significant influence to get Mr. Charles Hinnant appointed to the NCAB near the first of this year, replacing Charlie Bass MAI (who has been a disaster on our Board).

They cannot be thanked enough. Hinnant is reported to be highly competent and fair.

We could not ask for more.
