:D I like it!

I worry slightly that we will seperate more - but I like the added features. And this is much faster for me.

My biggest concern is that without clicking from topic to topic, my ISP will consider me inactive and kick me off even more frequently. :?
This hasn't seemed to have occurred yet though. I am probably just paranoid

Don't know why Lee Ann would think we might overuse the emoticons

Ruth,

On the contrary it will group us together more by keeping relevant discussion together rather than spread out all over the board.

One day last week we had over 400 new posts! I had people tell me there was no way they could read even half of them and so it was hard to get to the posts that they were intereted in.

This will better address those problems. Still..we're just trying this out. Mainly right now I want to see if there are technical problems. If not, we'll consider it further.

Thanks for your feedback!

I like it---I was able to register without any problems and am now testing the posting of a message (I'm sure it will work... ) Again, I would like to thank YOU for what you are doing for appraisers, I look forward to reading the post from everyone daily and don't know what I would do without this site

 OK Ruth....I give   What is D3P :?: :?:

Who thought we might overuse the emoticons :o Not ME :!:

I would never take advantage of these :P

By the way we can change color too 8)

Have fun,

Kevin,

Thank you for your support and help!

Frank,

I am now on dialup and it is slower, especially the initial load of the forum index. I clocked 23 seconds for the new board versus 13 seconds for the old. Both was from a clean browser with no cache.

However after this, there is little difference. Clicking on one of the forums on the new board brought it up in 10 seconds. And clicking on a topic that had 8 posts (I think) took 15 seconds, however all the messages were visible and you don't have to click each reply and wait for it to load.

So I think the load time is acceptable on dialup. Also there are some things I can do to optimize, including possibly installing compression, however I don't want to do all that yet until we decide if this is the way we're going.

Thanks for your help!

Wayne,

You're correct, it is slighlty quicker on the return trip. Each time back I notice another feature or two. Hope I get a chance to try them all. This morning I noticed the number of folks online notice, registered, guests, etc.

My Vote -

Seems to work fine :) It will take a while but we will get use to it and will even master it in time. Thanks Wayne 8)

Nice, I like it. It is pleasant to not have to click around in a string. But, will spell check still be an option?

I only have one concern. Some forums can have a virus introduced through a posting. Is this new software susceptible to a virus. Brian at WINTOTAL users group had this problem big time. He eventually changed the forum settings to prevent it.

I would be interested in reading more about this. I was under the impression that a Windows server could be vulnerable to this (i.e. code Red virus).

Since we are running Linux I don't think there is a problem, however if you have specifics I would like to read it.

I am pretty up to date on my virus knowledge, but not as pertains to web sites because the previous threats have been to Windows servers, which again, we do not use.
