What are the best colleges to recruit appraisers from?

Based on the grammar, spelling and questions in here by most of the recent newcomers to this business, I think any community college will have a crop right now. Time to raise the bar!

The link above is from AI's website under the education heading. There are a few 2 and 4 year programs, and sever master's programs. One of the Universities listed is in Australia (the rest are Stateside), but this might help you get started.

x2

Also, The University of Iowa turns out the finest young men and women! You don't want somebody that is already tainted by some RE professors! You want a fresh mind!! U OF I!! :new_all_coholic::new_all_coholic:

I think that I should have specified favoritism aside! The AI does not maintain a list of undergraduate institutions teaching appraisal, just has some examples on their site which is by no means comprehensive.

Anyway, I'm basically looking for more colleges that actually teach undergrad RE appraisal classes... not looking for geologists etc.

I am not aware of any comprehensive list. I wasn't trying to show any favoritism, just thought it may be helpful since it seemed to apply to your query.

Arizona State has some undergrad courses, plus they'll teach you how to afford a BMW and bottle service on 30K a year. :new_all_coholic:

Florida State University (I'm partial I guess), Univ of Florida, Texas A&M

Howard is correct:) it appears I’m partial as well. http://cob.fsu.edu/rmi/

On a side note, when first got into the business I walked into one of the well know firms here in town and the owner told me he only hired trainees who were his former students. I told him I guess my political science degree isn't going to cut it? Funny thing is our paths cross from time to time and he still remembers me. Apparently, my good impression still didn’t land me a job because I didn’t take a few real estate classes back in college.
