What do you feel is a reasonable and customary fee for your FHA Appraisals?

I would say $400 to $450 also, because that's what I used to get before the HVCC. I still have one direct lender client that pays $425 for FHA, but every other current client I have typically pays $350 to $375 and sometimes up to $400 for FHA.


Very interesting. You are the first person to mention anything under $400. Everyone else has said they still currently get $400+ for an FHA.

I have a company begging me to do them for $375 and are trying to use the line "that's what all the other appraisers charge". They just don't want to give me the extra $25. But I know they charge the client way more than that.

It is possible that the AMC office manager gets a bonus at the end of the month for the savings they have by paying appraisers such low fees.
 
$450. Guess that's why I only did a couple FHAs last year and now I am not even on the FHA roster (my choice). The base fee for VA in my county is $400.
 
$400 to $450 for the typical tract home (non-complex) assignment.
 
So. Calif. - I go $375 minimum, $425 standard.

Uh, I get less than 400 from one client as well. This thread asked Customary and Reasonable.
 
It is a $100.00 add to base fee for the additional field work, reporting, and risk. $ 550
 
350 down here and that is still hard to get.

A reasonable fee for a single family FHA appraisal should be approximate $450.
