wow, talk about bringing a post back from the dead! The original topic was in 2002 and somebody found it and replied to it in 2004 which caused it to come back!
 I didn't even notice that

ie main level then basement.

Um, i don't sketch basements. Am I supposed to?
Beats me!

But I do; then it carries the sf of the basement to page 1, page 2 cost approach, and the grid. [/b][/quote]
Now I'm really confused.

Do you do your sketch first?

My sketch doesn't carry the SF into my report.

That's one of the beauties of Apex.

Do the sketch, go back into the URAR and there on page one (where the room count shows) is the sfla for the basement and dwelling. The garage sf doesn't carry into the Cost Approach, but someone on here said to add the dimension page and it will. I'll have to try that. Then the sfla for the subject shows on the grid.

I love Apex IV !! B)

Wow.... he must have used the search feature. I guess David is worth his Salt. Sorry, couldn't resist. :)

Yep. Did a search. Been looking for DCSketch for a long time and cant find it. Did the beta testing on it when it first came out in the late 80's. Thought it by far the easiest to use without all the bells and whistles. Calculated complex properties very easily and easy to change and delete mistakes.

Want to copy the entire sketch printout to a metafile in Apex? Easily done. Edit/Copy/Copy Special. You will see an image of the entire file based on the page layout you have selected. Then, from that screen, click on Copy on the menu. You have the option to either send that image to a file or directly to the clipboard.

And Apex DOES have a version that will run on your Windows CE PDA. It's called Pocket Apex.

12 keystrokes to do a simple rectangle? F4, Enter, Enter, 27 x 31, Enter, Enter. Done, in Apex.

Not convinced? Call Apex at 210-699-6666 with any of your how-to questions.

Had an email from pylocampbell.

I couldn't answer it any other way except through this thread so that's what I'm doing. A PM to you didn't go through.

Nope, I've never heard of it except from that thread here.

Good luck!

Pam

I used to like DC Sketch. Guess it's deader than this post though. :P
