100+ reports per month, that guy is busy. I wonder if he takes his shoes off when he inspects.

I'll defend him a little on this point. Per the site he has 4 staff appraisers. Not a bad work load for 5 appraisers.

Yes, Mr. Vogel is a forum member. Use the search function to read his previous posts.

What I don't understand is the disconnect between (some) of his postings and his web page.

I think there are a lot of "posers" on this forum that will do free comp checks. It's just that some advertise it on their websites and others are more sneaky about it.

Some folks are just too stupid for their own good. They don't know what they don't know.

I'll defend him a little on this point. Per the site he has 4 staff appraisers. Not a bad work load for 5 appraisers.

Per his web page he has three appraisers covering about 10-12 counties and it looks like two others with unknown status. Probably typers or trainees.

He is entitled to do what he wants, when he wants. If he does not comply with USPAP no biggee. The New York State Appraisal Board does not care!
So he is making hay and lots of it while he still can.

I’m surprised that you are surprised. I know of one pretender that occasionally shows up in this forum. I’ve seen the work, had a copy of the evidence but wasn’t permitted to act due to its source – but he/she will come around again.

I suspect that there are a few imposters among us.

Mike Kennedy called him out on this in May of 2007. Mike's post was the last one in that thread.

My wife wonders why I have trouble sleeping at night; Mr. Vogel appeared to be one of the appraisers fighting the good fight, someone whose opinion a trainee would be able to trust ... talking out both sides of one's mouth is about the worst thing I can think of.

There have been at least of few do-gooders on this forum whose websites and ads were contrary to the words coming out of their mouth.
