What an ugly bathroom!
Is house remodeled because some quality average and some above average.

I think the reason you don't see any Q5 new construction is that the builder knows he will get a better return with updates that really don't add a lot more to the cost.

All of those features present in the house you first posted have a synergistic affect....the added value is more than the added costs.

I'm pretty sure the first house is a Q5. Economy construction and basic functionality as main consideration. Meets minimum building codes.

Yeah.. the decor and colors are whatever. It is a Toll Brothers house with the builder upgrades. Q3.

It's funny because this is why we got the Q and C ratings.

Let's go back to the old ways. Is the quality of construction Average, Average/Good, Average +, Average ++,
Average - , Good, Good+, Good-?

Then there's the quality of construction in different neighborhoods. In one neighborhood, the quality of construction may be good as it conforms to the neighborhood builds. The same construction in another (do I dare say it?) Superior neighborhood with higher median sales, would be considered average.

I mean.....we all know that there's grades of manufactured materials that are superior than others. Where's the cutoff and the beginning to the increments in quality?

Agree. Looks like a Q4.

For it's Era build, meets Code standards - Q4
For it's size & style, typical of the build period....IMO

big old city where i think a c3 was built a long time ago with stone exterior, plaster walls, lot of fancy wood trim, probable oak flooring. if you are asking what a c3 is, then for sure you haven't seen one.
most victorian late 1800's, early 1900's have material in them that aren't done anymore, because we have no craftmen, or cheap labor to do it.
a c2 or c1 house is probable never seen by most of us. The baron robbers homes are all c1, just like the king of england's properties are.

I think for the old houses I tend to think of it more in terms of replacement cost than reproduction.
