What to do when you KNOW something is wrong

:rof: MAYBE it's working because pretty much everyone on my list knows there are others on my list that consist of regulators, law enforcement, other lenders QCDs, mortgage fraud investigation compaines, etc. Gee, the others on my list might not ignore it!!!

The email addresses are hidden (blind) to everyone else, but they all know what my list consists of.

Mike Neff, you are correct. I think those on my list also understand this.

Is this a new forum rule??

No. It's a long-standing, unprinted, market-driven regulation.

It's nice to see that Washington is finally getting around to doing what Missouri did last April.

And GREFPAC did in Atlanta last month and the Savannah seminar in July. There are new seminars and symposiums happening in many places around the country. People, who matter, are finally waking up and taking notice. Now if we could get the MBs an LOs out of the picture as far as who orders the appraisals we could really make some headway.

Hello all - I am a newbie to the site - I think that this is a great idea. I have several addresses that have recently come across my desk that I know were obviously overvalued. If we don't police ourselves then we have no one to blame but ourselves. Pam, I have some coming to you-

as i loan broker,i see no real distinction between what pam is doing and calling the cops if i see a stranger climbing over my neighbors fence.if there is actual knowledge of a crime, failure to report it is misprision.all of us in the industry should do what we can, ethically,to clean up the mess that the real estate field has become.

Welcome to the loan broker, but a truer analogy would be-- not calling the cops-- but emailing your impressions of the fence climber and the address to someone likable you "met" over the internet and never hearing anything again.

Even cops have to write those reports and answer to somebody who answers to the public which is you and your neighbor.

Unfortunately in this side of the business far too often we witness not only strangers climbing the fence, but leaving with merchandise that doesn’t belong to them. As a loan broker you must agree that your house is far dirtier than ours.
