Ditto Will.

I thought Walker used the old camera on a tripod and had to light the flash stand?

I like my Sony Cybershot. Features 3.2 MP, 3x optical zoom, wrist strap plus my favorite feature is it takes normal sized AA batteries. Which means when I want extra rechargable batteries I only have to pay ~$10.00 for two pair compared to ~$50 for a replacement battery pack like in other cameras.

Sony Mavica with wide angle. lithium batteries recharge in cradle. uses memory stick and floppy. big. bulky. can't lose it.

just the facts ma'm

I use Kodak LS 443, with dock.

The dock is more important than the camera. I never fool with battery or memory card - just place the camera on the dock, battery gets charged and computer sees the camera as drive F: (or whatever) - it is as easy as hanging up the phone.

Camera has idiot proof lens cover. Cycle time has never been an issue for me, 1 or 2 seconds (?). There is an audible beep when at the instant the photo is taken, I check the image on the back of the camera, works good everytime.

Wide angle lens is pretty good - rare that I can't fit everthing I need into the shot, and when that happens, I can convince myself that it is not my problem.

I think 4 mega pixal, quality of the image is excellant. If you take the time to read the instructions -- it does a good job in difficult lighting (low light or bright sun directly behind the house)

I forget what I paid, maybe $400 (2 years ago), there could be a cheaper one just as good. IMHO, the dock is really really good thing.

this is only my second camera, since going digital; 1st was a Kodak, dropped on the pavemnet out the driver door winder (more than once) - droped it in water on sevaral occasions, lasted around 6 years.

recently bought a Canon "Power Shot A60" - nifty little sucker; uses 2 AA bat trees; no extra anythin, holds bout 30 shots; loads em into a file outside the work product; you can "name the file" and dump all the pics at the same time in their own folder and load em into the reports later.

Best part under $200 - brand new

Here's a couple neat ones on the market that I have had the chance to play with. I just bought my wife an Olympus Stylus 300. Cool little camera. Five different modes. Takes great shots. Lens is 35mm. Super quik cycle up time. Nice and small to slip in your pocket while measuring.

The other is a Canon Powershot A75. Bought it for my parents for Xmas. Just arrived today. Looks like a nice camera. Nice grip and take 4 AA's. Haven't had a chance to fire it up.. Need to wrap it up first for Xmas.

Both where bought on eBay, the 300 for $155 and the A75 for $175.

I bought a Digital Cannon Rebel
about a year ago. SLR, but
$999 with a good zoom lense,
which is wide angle equivalent
to 28mm (nice for houses).

I've loved it. I might consider
the Nikon D70 if I were buying now.
Its about $1200.

And its a tax deduction.

I use a Kyocera Finecam S3 I purchased it about 2-3 years ago and I still love it.
its a 3.3MP but I never use it higher then 1MP for work, I get over 450 Photos with my 128 SD card and I have 2 rechargable batteries that I use, I have never been whit out power in the filed, but I came close a few times with losts of flash work and no power off time.

the key selling point was it's size and price. I paid $380.00 ish for it and an additional 50 or 75 for the extra battery add 10 for a better case and done..
Oh yes buy the 128 SD card also, perhaps a 64 might be all you realy need for work.

the size was nice it the almost the exact same size as a pack of cigarettes

Minolta Dimage XT

3.2 Megapixel and it fits in a shirtpocket. Has 3x Optical Zoom and 4x Digital Zoom. The zoom doesn't telescope out, it is folded on the inside of the camera. Runs forever on 2 AA's. Startup is less than 1 second and it has an aluminum body. It's hardly bigger than a deck of cards.

Had it for two years and nary a problem. It's awesome.
