I've been marked up to this point as a contributor to appraisals I've worked on in Illinois. I got my Illinois license last week. I've got two Illinois appraisals on my desk that I'm working on. We did the inspections the week before I received my license. 1st of the two will be finished today, the other will be finished in a couple days.
Since I didn't have the license at the time of inspection, can I sign these appraisals, or should I just be listed as a contributor?
In Illinois, only licensed individuals can sign assignment results. If you received a license, in this case a "557" trainee credential, on Friday, anything you did prior to the issue date cannot be signed by you. Nor should you be listed as providing significant contribution. A few other states allow for unlicensed assistance. Illinois doesn't.
