Why Science Today is Just Crap

Michael Mann resigned as a provost of U Penn after a gross mischaracterization of Charlie Kirk... he should be in the State Penn. He owes the Ball family $1MM in Canada after losing a lawsuit there and now owes near that in a court case he lost in DC. He has no intention of paying a dime. The man is a joke.

Not everyone pays their civil judgements....

Read another maddening stupidity of an argument from a sports writer- TV host here in Arkansas claiming that CWD (Chronic Wasting Disease which impacts deer populations) was caused by chicken farms, specifically because they were feeding feed that contains soybeans. He got called out on Facebook for his fear-mongering but to wit. There are few places in Arkansas where chicken farms are not common - NW, NE, River Valley, S - the state has a lot of farms. We have CWD and we have soybean farms while much of the soybean meal is produced in the Midwest. But at the same time CWD is infecting half the elk and deer herds in Colorado. And I challenge you find many soybean farms or chicken houses in the state of Colorado. The relationship is nonexistent. This is the same sort of BS that gets magnified off social media that has no support whatsoever. It's like the Stockholm Syndrome. It's a coping mechanism - a bias- when science cannot find evidence for something so the brain is unable to accept that there must not be some sort of relationship. It is a confirmation bias which means someone without expertise attempts to explain a connection between some recent circumstances and something else simply because they think an obvious solution is necessary. Somethings are simply random and correlation is not causation. CWD and a poultry barn have absolutely nothing to do with each other or CWD would not exist in states without chicken farms and in fact, CWD is widely believed to have originated in Colorado in the 1960s and spread into Canada via mule deer herds. There are no mule deer in Arkansas.
