By the way, when I read the "warnings" before taking the vaccine, it indicated there may be side effects as we have heard.
It also said taking the second dose (stronger) may have more side effects.
Also, the vaccine is not known how long the person will be protected.
Also, the vaccine may protect that person but can still be a spreader. So be careful and wear a mask.

Vaccine distribution is too slow and it's because of how our American health system works or should I say, doesn't work.
Countys' have their own policies. CDC has their policies which recently has been politically influenced.
The logistics are not working. Hospitals, health officials, government officials, and such need to coordinate much better.
Covid shows how our health system has failed and need to be change.
The "health" system that consists of the doctors and hospitals were never meant to handle a situation like this. Now if you are talking about the health systems with the government. That is different. It is a massive bureaucracy. All the way from the federal to local level. The administration eliminated much of the red tape on their end ( it wasn't perfect). But from there on it was a giant cluster in many states and the states have had plenty of time to get a plan together. But many of them just whined about the feds.

The plan was to distribute the vaccine to as many people as soon as possible.
The logistics in implementing is not working.
There's so much the private hospitals can do. Hospitals in different counties have different set of rules in vaccinations.
I don't know the answers but it's not working at the local, state, and federal level. The bureaucracy and the need of leadership to get it all done correctly are lacking.
Our health care system needs to be overhaul.

Today, California's governor made an announcement that people 65 and over are eligible for the vaccine.
This caught local health officials by surprise because they're not prepare to give the vaccines. This shows the lack of coordination between state and local officials.
This is not the case with North Dakota which has the highest vaccination rate followed by West Virginia at 64%. Good for them.
California is ranked 44th at 24% of its vaccination supply. :cryingsmiley:

As I've said to and about George...
And I paraphrase....
You used to be one of the smartest AF members....
Now you're merely The Chicken Man....
George has forgotten more about appraisal practice than you have ever known. You just don't like his non-appraisal opinions.

It also said taking the second dose (stronger) may have more side effects.
As many know my wife is a Nurse Practitioner on the front lines. She responds to the ER when there is a trauma and many times runs the trauma, she also runs the trauma ICU. She works on a team with about 15-20 people. All but one have received both shots. There was little reaction to the first shot that was not consistent with getting a flu shot. The second shot was different and all but one did not feel well after the first shot with one gal being sick for a day and my wife feeling like **** for about 16 hours. The other NP called off work the day after getting her second shot and one doctor had to leave mid-shift. The team had one doctor who did not get either shot so he could cover in case others got sick. He worked a 48-hour shift after the others got the second shot.

Coffey County Health Department nurses decline to give the COVID vaccine

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The Coffey County Health Department is preparing to help distribute the COVID-19 vaccine ahead of the end of this month for Phase 2 of the state’s plan; however, none of their 4 nurses will actually be administering it.

In a call with 13 News Wednesday (Jan. 13), health department administrator Lindsay Payer says that neither she nor her staff “feel comfortable” giving the vaccine. Instead, the county health department will contract with at least one outside nurse to give the vaccine and possibly other providers. They will use COVID funds to cover it. Payer says these are personal decisions made individually and not without considerable thought.

“I will tell you we will have to contract staff outside of our staff to give that vaccine because my staff is not comfortable with that,” Payer told commissioners at their January 4th meeting. “It’s a new technology. We’ve never seen it before. It was only studied in 45 people before it was approved, and the companies that have made the vaccine they don’t have to ... all liability is gone from them. So, if there’s anything bad about the vaccine it doesn’t go back to them. That’s widely known, and it’s somewhat discomforting to a nurse who has to put that in people’s bodies. So, we will find nurses that are willing to do that. I am not. My staff is not at this time.”

Pfizer, CDC probing death of Florida doctor who took COVID-19 vaccine

Michael’s wife, Heidi Neckelmann, said in a Facebook post that her husband died of a stroke after spending two weeks in a Miami Beach hospital. She attributed his death to a “strong reaction to the COVID vaccine,” which she said he got on Dec. 18.

“I believe that people should be aware that side effects can happen, that it is not good for everyone and in this case destroyed a beautiful life, a perfect family, and has affected so many people in the community,” Neckelmann said in the post, adding that her late husband was a “pro-vaccine advocate.”

I mentioned before about a hospital in San Jose where people there caught the Covid during Christmas.
Latest I heard 15 patients and over 40 hospital workers have caught the virus during that time. The receptionist has died.
Initially it was thought someone in an inflatable Christmas tree costume was spreading the virus in the ER.
There's an ongoing investigation trying to find the cause. My inside information indicated something went wrong with the air system.
What this means is that hospitals are a dangerous place with the virus lurking in the air. It's best of course to wear mask but don't hang around in enclosed areas for too long.
