Xceligent Shutters: Site To Do Business Down

Does anyone know of an adequate replacement for STDB? I'm with a real estate development group and one of our Developers relies on STDB for proven market info. Aside from CoStar, are there any viable alternatives to the level/type of reporting STDB provides, in the event the site is shuttered for good? Thanks in advance for any help! I've been tasked with finding a suitable replacement but don't really know what options exist as I'm relatively new to the industry.

Once again, what specifically are you looking for? All of the information from STDB is available elsewhere it just depends on what you are trying to find

ESRI and Claritas are two big demographics providers. I doubt they're cheap though.

Xceligent wasn't in our market so we didn't use them.

Less competition is never a good thing, especially when you are almost the only competition.

To be completely honest, I'm not entirely sure what STDB provided other than what I can gather from this thread and some Google searching. To that end, I was told to find basically a 1 to 1 replacement for STDB.

So are there any services (perhaps ESRI and Claritas, which I just saw mentioned) that provide literally the same information as STDB? Again, I personally have never used STDB and unfortunately can't review it at this point to familiarize myself.

ESRI Business Analyst Online provides the exact same reports and functionality.

ESRI is the ONLY provider of demographic data Even the US Census Bureau uses them. Everyone else just repackages their services. It has been a long term goal of ESRI to become a back end data provider, and maybe someday you'll have to go to third parties. But, at the moment, that has not yet happened.

The prices are a bit higher if your volume is high, but it's not the end of the world.

CCIM is working to get STDB back, so I've been told. But I am using ESRI in the interim. You can sign up for a 1 month free trial. Hopefully by then, this will be resolved.

STDB has been back up for a few days now...requires new password reset through a link they provide...
