Your "title"

I wonder if this 'title' obsession is a man thing :P

Liz I'm convinced it is a male thing. I've never seen a female appraiser get hung up the vanity titles. If someone needs it for an LLC, incorporation, tax purposes, etc., that's a different matter, but some of it gets ridiculous. I've got a few competitors who revel in having president beside their name. One guy has it on his sign.....he has a shared receptionist in one of those rathole, closet type offices and whenever he needs to call another appraiser he has the receptionist make the call and put you on hold like he's a REAL president of something. I always hang up before he gets on and it forces him to finally make the call. Gotta love it. :)

TC :rainfro: jmp ... That's too funny!

I also put my license level and number on the card, no titles. NC requires you disclose your license level and number on ALL forms of advertisement, so it's just an old habit from the past.

Senior Staff Appraiser or Cheif Commercial Appraiser sounds good. Then there is Senior Presidential Staff Appraiser. B)

I put:

"Definately better than that low life Bobby Bucks"

Bucks,

Have the same experience with an old boss who had his secy call and say, Please hold for Appraiser Smith. I didn't last there too long, after I left he was looking for some comps and had his secy call me. He wants those comps, he can call himself. A lot of inflated egos in this biz.

I'm using "El Jefe" right now. I was going to use "El Presidente Maximo Grande" but it didn't fit that well on my business cards.
How about "El Supremo"?

Used to use El Magnifico until life took me down a few notches. Now I just put Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser. Very functional.

When I was a kid .... I got to feeling my "importance" ... to the point that it made my Daddy pretty upset with me ..... typical teenager stuff ..

We were down at the horse barn one day and I was acting like one of their closer cousins ... when Daddy walked over to me with a bucket of water and told me to stick my finger in it, and then pull it out ... He said "You see how big of a hole you left in that water? That's about how important you are." ...... pretty humbling .... Smart man .... He got a whole lot smarter after I turned 21 or so ... ;)

..guess he wasn't real good on teaching how to disembark watercraft.

Amazing how that works, isn't it? When I first started working with mine, he got even smarter.

Not sure what his problem was when I was younger... :D
