I just recently got a hunch that I may be blacklisted................I do not know who or why. Although, I have been asked by an AMC that does not have me on their list but my partner is on it, if I had ever been denied by a lender for any reason.............That the mortgage company is the one that tells them yes or no to a specific appraiser.........I contacted the mortgage company and she went around in circles that they go on a needed basis and made it a point to say, we do not use appraisers that are on any of our investors watch list. So again, would anybody know if an appraiser is suppose to be contacted if they are reviewed?

It is not required that they notify the appraiser. Some are on a list for years and do not know it.

Let me guess. Chase, Citi, or Flagstar?

I dont know. I have an vendor account with chase, but they have never given me work, but I qualified to be a vendor. CITI, I just called their appraisal department and although it was a quick conversation, she sent me the appraisal application and I just sent it in...........Although now that I am remembering Flagstar and Old Republic did state a year ago due to my lack of years of experience, that I did not qualify as an appraiser with them at that time, could they have put me on a blacklist for not having their required years of experience? I'm not being stuck up, but I have done better quality work than some appraisers who have twice as many years on me, because I care to..... That is so retarded if that is the case.

Many of these companies report you to MARI's Midex. In order to view or respond to this proprietary database, the lender or AMC who put you there must "invite" you to see what they posted. Most will never admit to doing so. So...you can certainly pay a one-time look-see charge to see what, if anything was written about you or your company.

NO requirement to notify you if you have been reviewed .... although the HVCC may require you be notified if you are removed .... I havent read it in a very long time because frankly it doesnt apply to appraisers . only lenders ... Im not a lender so I dont care so much about it.

Generally, you are never informed about a review. However, if the lender is being asked to buy back the loan, they may contact you to help rebut the buy-back request. Your cooperation for such requests may affect further orders from the lender. That's about the only time you'll know you've been reviewed...unless you get an order to do a review on one of your own appraisals. LOL.
