Citi Group Watch List - Provident/Lendervend

Does anyone know if there is any hope of getting OFF the Citi Group watch list? Got an email today from Lendervend saying account suspended because the appraiser appears on Citigroup's Watch List. They gave a snail mail address in Missouri. Calling Citi doesn't help, they won't talk to anyone. Has anyone had any experience with this? Is there any way to talk to anyone or resolve something like this? Provident/lendervend was sending a lot of good work. Any help would be appreciated.

I just recently got a hunch that I may be blacklisted................I do not know who or why. Although, I have been asked by an AMC that does not have me on their list but my partner is on it, if I had ever been denied by a lender for any reason.............That the mortgage company is the one that tells them yes or no to a specific appraiser.........I contacted the mortgage company and she went around in circles that they go on a needed basis and made it a point to say, we do not use appraisers that are on any of our investors watch list. So again, would anybody know if an appraiser is suppose to be contacted if they are reviewed?

You say your partner is on it. If he is an officer or has any ownership in your company then your company may be blacklisted. If so, anyone who works for your company would be ineligible to do work.

It may be a cliché, but it is true - you are judged by the company you keep.

I'm sorry, let me clarify, my partner is on their approved list to do appraisals for them. They are sending him alot of work! So it cannot be that. m2:

What is the fee for the mari report?

$50 bucks. I am gonna purchase it to put my mind at ease..............Just gotta wait for these AMC's to Pay!:new_2gunsfiring_v1:

Many of these companies report you to MARI's Midex. In order to view or respond to this proprietary database, the lender or AMC who put you there must "invite" you to see what they posted. Most will never admit to doing so. So...you can certainly pay a one-time look-see charge to see what, if anything was written about you or your company.

If an appraiser lands on a bank's blacklist, (whether deserved or not), that bank has a right to not accept any reports from the appraiser.

But - if the bank reports the appraiser to MARI, then other banks may decide not to use the appraiser also, only based on the first bank's report to MARI. That does not seem fair to me.

RE: Citi & Lendervend

Fight back !!

HVCC I #8:

allowing the removal of an appraiser from a list of qualified appraisers used by any entity, without prior written notice to such appraiser, which notice shall include written evidence of the appraiser’s illegal conduct, a violation of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) or state licensing standards, substandard performance, or otherwise improper or unprofessional behavior;

and this....

Washington, DC - May 20, 2010 - (RealEstateRama) — Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac will deploy a complaint process for violations of the Home Valuation Code of Conduct (HVCC), according to a letter from FHFA Acting Director Edward J. DeMarco to New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. The letter, which outlines developments with the HVCC and related agreements, states that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, now in conservatorship, will not be funding the Independent Valuation Protection Institute (IVPI).

It's not fair. I think that if an appraiser ends up on this or any other list, they should be afforded an opportunity to respond. As it is now, you could be losing business and never know why.

We never know. Many *****ls out there. Living day by day, awaiting the ASP to kick your butt, give you al-co-holizum, loose your sleep...all because you missed a closet or a check box on a report.....
Why do I do this?????

Can't help.. was just informed today that 2 of my biggest clients are not allowing me to do work because I am on Citi's watch list from appraisals I completed... wait for it.... in 2007. I have completed 10's of mllions of $$ in appraisals and pride myself in being a good appraiser even to the point of losing biz back in the day for being "too conservative". I have done leasehold interests, complicated capitilization reports and they hit me on 2 SFR's from 2007? my biz is dead. If this cannot be fixed i'm done. 26 years down the tubes for their bad loans. Any help from Citi would be greatly appreciated. if anyone has had a good response to their rebuttal process, i would love to know. Lenders will not accept you to do any work if you are on 1 watch list.
