Is It Super Slow Or What?

Been busy with request for fees and turn times. No orders though.

Very busy on the commercial side. Mostly distressed stuff. Lot of things that held on for a while through the recession but the vacancy, back taxes, or whatever finally caught up with them. My mentor has had to turn down a lot of work recently because we're too busy. A few sales even but pretty much all NNN leased single-tenant stuff.

I just got order number 4 for the month. :/

Considering our office used to do a couple hundred in a month, (Pre-HVCC) I'm speechless.

Busiest Feb, March and April I've had since 2006. After last years disaster, thought I'd have more time for sugaring season, but of course I was wrong.

Something else is also happening. A lot of the larger AMC's are hiring and placing in-house staff appraisers in markets where they did not have them before. If your AMC work has dropped fairly dramatically, as mine has, then this could be the case.

If that's the case then it will be permanent.

busy are those accepting low ball fees....

have declined over 35 orders for buck seventy five...
have declined over 20 orders for forensic field reviews at five zero zero bucks...
have declined over 25 orders for desk reviews for seventy five bucks....

now go figure to those that are busy....

Yeah no kidding. I wonder who's "EXTREMELY" busy and what fees they are actually accepting?

I know of one local appraiser that is VERY busy but his average fee is $125.00, so go figure.
