Is Anyone Slowing Down?

I ready for it to slow down...will be spending about a month recovering from hip replacement surgery.

Nope, I'll give you 2.5 weeks only! :rof:

Just kidding and hoping you a speedy recovery. :)

Was turning down 9 of 10, now turning down about 25%, which leaves us pretty slow (just filling the schedule). A lot are coming in with lower fees and shorter turn times, and a lot of the ones offered have been making the rounds for a while that no one is taking.

Purchase market down. But that is historically typical in my markets as majority of buyers want to get in home before school and/or holidays. Refi's still somewhat active. Down about 20% overall. Happens every year. Do not mind it as I need the additional time to get ready for holidays. Have about 10k Christmas lights to get up. Plus helping wife decorating inside of house.

It's interesting to see how different markets are in this business. I have a feeling it may be how many appraisers are in certain markets. I laugh when I see some of you quoting early December as that's what an AMC/Lender would do if you quoted that turn time down here unless the property was complex. I just received an order from Valuation Partners(1004 FHA) due next Wed. for $300. I normally let them go as they blast orders but I clicked on it anyway to quote but skippy already swiped it up. I am also interested as to what each appraiser considers slow, average, busy, etc. Obviously fee has a lot to do with it as 20 with the right fee is not bad but 20 are less at mediocre fees is gonna tighten the budget a bit.

slow 2 a week, (or less of course), 6-7 a week busy, 4-5 a week average, most comfortable at 4 a week but who can plan for consistency...over 6 a week I turn down orders unless from a very good client in which case I end up with a pressure feeling 7.

For me.

1 a week slow, 4 a week busy. 5 a week swamped. Won't do more than 5 in a week.

Are these figures the number of orders you'll accept per week or the number of inspections/reports you complete?
