My Dear Senior members,

Could you please help me to find Supervisor/Mentor for me? I am in Vernon hills, IL. I am ready to work initially as volunteer/No split. I can spent at least 5-6 hours a day during day time and more time in evenngs. I want to learn and get certified.

If Vernon Hills is anywhere close to Chicago there is an extreme over-supply of appraisers in the area.

If you have a college degree make some calls to large commercial real estate firms.

In my opinion, the person you train with and learn from can have a pretty significant impact on your career. So I would not rush to find just anybody that will train you. Best to be patient and wait for the right opportunity.

I agree.

Kavin,
Are you still in search of a mentor? I too am an IL trainee and was curious to find out if you were able to luck up on a mentor, and if you personally have any recommendation. Just looking for starting point. TIA

Not easy to find anyone. I joined one but he doesn't have enough work and he is retiring soon, I stopped now and engaging myself with real estate sales for time being. you can try with someone you know or big companies.
