To be serious, it seems people in the deep South and some in this thread are slow to embrace electric vehicles because of political reasons, they perceive it to be a "Liberal" product. As someone that is a centrist/free thinker I don't have to worry about that nonsense and can enjoy blowing the doors off the good ole boys Mustang GT's and fly past the traffic in the HOV lanes. I like having one in my garage.

They're using electric vehicles in underground mines now. Underground, they have definite advantages. They are also developing them for open pit mines as well. These things are going to be gigantic. Hard to imagine.

Electric is the future. Storing batteries at battery stations will be so much better than storing fuel. No more gas trucks!! No more underground gas/diesel storage containers leaking fuel into groundwater.

Electric fork lifts have been around for a long time, but they charge with conventional deep cycle batteries because they need the weight as counterbalance. Tractors, combines, etc. will be a no go.
No. activist greenies are. Investors want a profit and customers want a cheaper product. I would love to see the fossil fuel industry shut down for 30 days...then see what energy sources actually work.

Here in the silicon valley, there are chargers everywhere, e.g. outside of work offices, in the parking lots for Apple in Cupertino, Sunnyvale and Santa Clara. They are outside of many motels, restaurants and other locations. They can of course be anywhere. That is a big advantage. Putting in a new gasoline station is a nightmare because of EPA and local regulations and procedures.

So, let say you have a motel up in the Sierras somewhere with no gasoline stations in sight. You can set up a battery charging station for your guests, without much fuss.

As for Arkansas - it's a backward area and you likely have almost no electric vehicles yet. Simple.

That is because just about every renewable (such as as solar, wind, electric cars) Survive due to politics. Subsidies, tax incentives, etc. etc. Most of these would still be in the fledgling stages if it was not for politics

Backward area, you say? Backward? You wanna' see backward, go for a stroll in San Francisco. The number of electric vehicles is, at least as far as I know, not a recognized measure of the "backwardness" of Arkansas, or any other geographic area. There may be a lot of social and economic characteristics that can be reasonably compared to make an supported conclusion about its relative (or absolute) "backwardness" but as a stand alone variable, the number of electric vehicles ain't one of them.

Because certain states can't hold other states jocks, so those successful states make sure the weak states have paved roads, etc. Otherwise they'd turn into a 3rd world country, only with lots of jacked up Ford's, flatbill hats and Budweiser
