Not until Uncle Billy and the Yenta get it , then I sit back for 120
days and see how they are doing. I have a hunch the mutation is going to be much faster than what was originally predicted and so I also want to see what happens to the British : ) LMAO

Using poor Uncle Billy as a guinea pig Glen? :rof:

I think I read somewhere that only 70% of the population need to get it for herd immunity.
So far about 7% of the population has had it so we aren't close to that number. If we get to 70% infected that means two million Americans have died from it so we don't want that.

And your other question: after you get the vaccine you won't get Covid19 and you won't spread it to others.

I would be first in line if they would let me, but appraisers aren't a priority, which is fine, whatever, I will be patient!

I'm hearing of examples where people have caught it twice. That's not what I want to be hearing about when considering the efficacy of a vaccination.

I think they were saying 70% need to get the vaccine which will result in herd immunity. I may have misunderstood.

Yes, better that we get to 70% with the vaccine rather than the spread of the virus. We are fortunate to get a vaccine so fast.

beatniks who have distrusted authority all their lives are racing to the front of the line like a Wal-Mart blue light special to get their Fauci injection.
interestingly they are talking about using Wally World as foci of injections once this "gets going". So we all huddle in group masses to get the shot and hope it take hold before the disease itself nails us for being in a group cuddle in Wally world's parking lot. We didn't have church Sunday because the pastor got a cough and fever. Big red flag so we went on line. Results back yesterday. He had Covid but is already "well" but must quarantine until New Years. BTW, he works for Walmart and hasn't been in his office since April. Wears a mask etc etc. If the mask worked why has everyone I known who has got this been regular mask wearers (except a 3 year old and even she wears it now.) I cannot think of a single person who is walking around in public without their mask. I am convinced it is so ineffectual that it isn't likely worth the bother.

The real issue is the cytokine storm. If you have it twice, what happens if your immune system responses inappropriately and begins to attack your own healthy tissue? And we've already seen this virus is mutating - There is a mutation found in mink in the Netherlands. Another mutation working throughout England is sourced supposedly from Kent. No telling how many variations exist in China whom we cannot believe a word from. So it may become like the flu - varying year by year and impossible to predict when it morphs into something more deadly. Left alone, Covid will eventually die out...like the plague. Speaking of which, many researchers are now beginning to think that the Black Death (and a related one called the mysterious sweating sickness- 5 occurrences in the 15 & 16th century) was not Bubonic plague (a bacterial infection) so much as it was a virus.

I don't want to be like insensitive about the topic but I am tired of COVID man. Tired of all this fear around it, tired of hearing about it, and tired of having to be politically correct about it. Social distancing, masks, whatever man. Look at the data none of that works. This whole COVID thing is a circus.

Since there are so many non-symptomatic cases, we cannot be sure that only 7% has it. Since it has clearly weakened since last spring, the higher death estimates are also unlikely. Flu season also seemed to have abruptly ended when Covid begin. Is that a result of the mask use? Social distancing perhaps more so. So if we are trading flu deaths for Covid deaths...gee, I donno. Neither looks like a good outcome. But if we lump the covid and flu mortality together, is it really making much of a blip on the overall death rate? After all, it is most dangerous to the same demographic - the old and feeble and those with co-morbidity issues.
