I think you're completely wrong about North Korea. McArthur was a moron to try and march to the Chinese border and think the Chinese wouldn't get involved. A much more intelligent strategy would be for the U.N. forces to invade up to where North Korea is at its thinnest-from just north of Pyongyang to Hamhung. It would have been a defensible line, and everything worth having is south of the line. Everything north of it is mountainous s**t impossible to fight in. After that, we could have dictated a peace in terms that favored us and S. Korea. Instead McArthur instigated an unnecessary war with China that got a lot of U.S. troops killed.

Special counsel John Durham says he is building a case to show the technology executive with whom an indicted Democratic lawyer on the payroll of Hillary Clinton's campaign was working to build a Trump-Russia collusion narrative gained access to internet traffic at the White House to try and obtain dirt on former President Donald Trump.Left-wing lawyer Michael Sussmann was indicted last year for allegedly concealing his clients, among them Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, from the FBI when he volunteered since-debunked claims of a secret back channel between the Trump Organization and Russia’s Alfa Bank. Durham revealed in a Friday court filing that he has evidence that Sussmann’s other client (dubbed “Technology Executive-1” but known to be former Neustar Senior Vice President Rodney Joffe) “exploited” domain name system internet traffic at “a particular health care provider” (which was likely Spectrum Health), Trump Tower, Trump’s Central Park West apartment building, and “the Executive Office of the President of the United States.”
MacArthur was pretty full of himself for sure. Same would have been said for Patton had he lived, as he might have been in charge in NK. MacArthur was not always well liked in WWII, calling him "Dugout Doug" and the Aussies absolutely despised him in managing the South Sea campaign and frankly he was a slow learner although his island hopping campaign was spot on. His real legacy was Japan reconstruction. Having spent time there, he knew the Japanese mindset and kept many of the top brass at bay from trying and executing the Emperor. In fact, he waited him out. He did not go see the Emperor, rather waited for the Big Guy to come see him, the New Big Guy. It made a huge difference in the way Japan was restored. Once the Japanese people saw the Emperor bow lower to MacArthur than MacArthur would bow to him, there was no hint of insurrection from the Japanese. They knew had won and they set about to restore their nation.
It's important only in the sense it will set the record straight.
I understand that, though I would much prefer that "setting the record straight" be worked out with research and proof that can convince courts that it was. But the 2022 elections will happen long before the record is corrected, and my opinion is that the time, money and energy available be committed to solidifying those elections. I'd much rather see the records of of some of the influencial Dem members of the House and Senate be aired to the public so that they can be defeated.
