One more nail in the coffin...

I'm not going to do any of it. :rof: Anyone remember all the bugs that occurred in 2005? This new ****ty turbotax 100 page web based appraisal system may not get officially rolled out till 2035.

For AMC fees, these clowns are lucky they get 5 pages.

You don't have to do any of it.... ever. Of course, you will not be doing any Fannie/Freddie work. If you are good and have the right connections, you might be able to get some work from non conforming lenders..

I’m sure I’ll do it the same way I did when they switched to the 2005 forms. When the AMC tells me what format they wanted in, I’ll pull up my software and start from there.

Remember: "....typically the most experienced and knowledgeable appraisers who appreciate the efficiency and profitability of hybrid appraisal...."

And:

"....The appraisals were performed on a desktop basis by an appraiser in Indiana. Total fee was $250. Out of that $250, AMC Fee was $225, and the Indiana desktop appraiser was paid $25.00. Keep that fee in mind as you read through the attachments."

Anyone pros-tee-tooting themselves for $25 deserves all the grief they get.

Such a scam. This profession is about finished. So glad I’m down to minimal part time, and might even cut back from that. Much easier ways to make money out there.

All the self appointed valuation visionaries, and wizards of the profession. Their ultimate legacy will be It’s destruction. I wonder if they’ll mention that at all their retirement parties and all their congratulations on LinkedIn about what a great job they’ve done?

It’s not possible for me to have a lower opinion of any group of people than I do the leadership in this profession.

Another example of what the future holds for residential appraisers:

I'm all for appraiser independence WRT the fees that someone wants to charge, but its really hard for me to believe there are appraisers who will do a desktop appraisal for $25. It just doesn't make sense. Even if you can crack one out in two hours (which seems impossible to me), that's $12.5 an hour - gross...
