Global warming, so confusing, help me understand.

All that we are doing really, is fertilizing the atmosphere to the delight of most plant species; warming is probably due to retrenchment of the Little Ice Age and back to Climate Optimum.

Thank God for global warming. The polar vortex ice age won't be killing us instead today. Global warming is a simpleton's rightous left term to be used as fact. The perception of it being said as a fact makes it a fact to the simpleton lefty brain.

Why did/does Tesla build electric cars....

Notice nobody's talking anymore about the new green deal or how we're all going to die in 12 years...
We are more than half way there.. AOC said it in 2018. Greta the autistic wunderkind claimed we had only 5 years until we were all doomed. Also, said in 2018. She scrubbed that tweet in 2023, when, of course, it didn't come true.

And some obvious half-truths continue to be spread. Like JG's "rising sea levels". The rising sea level is measured in a few millimeters and the sea both rises and falls - never mind the difficulty of measuring exactly the ocean level in a tidal environment. Further, some places exhibit land subsidence due to tectonics or water withdrawal from the aquifers of the area. The weight of buildings in NYC is a factor there, and partially countered by the continued isostatic rebound of the earth being pressed down under a huge sheet of ice 15,000 years ago. Tidal gauges in many parts of the world are showing apparent sea level falling. It's a very complex interaction between earth and sea, the tides, the position in the solar system and the pull of the moon and planets upon the earth, each distorting ever so slightly the earth's surface.

Why did/does Tesla build electric cars....
novelty, potential profit, government subsidies, cheaper fuel. The one reason they didn't build them for was to save the planet and/or improve the air quality and weather. That was a nice selling point, but not a real reason. PS- why doesn't someone market an ATV for the farmer and sportsman that is all electric? I'd love to have one to putter around on the farm - fix fence, pick up the trash on the ROW, and anyone with cows, no better way to take salt and feed to the moo-moos.

In ten years, all the oceans will be gone.
Going where? There is much more water way below the earth's crust, than on top of it. Stop scaring the kids on the blog.

It must be true, Ted Danson said it.

That means the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) is full of **** then and they are the ones writing the book, right? The Representative Concentration Pathway (RCP) 8.5 is a climate change scenario that assumes the world continues to burn fossil fuels at the current rate but with no environmental controls and all new plants basically coal fired. It is not only a worst-case scenario, but the IPCC says that it is not even a possibility. The RCP 8.5 is triple the current level. (RCP means there is 8.5 watts of heat for each square meter of earth, again that is 3x the current amount. And finally, even if we reached RCP 8.5 there is no guarantee that the models claiming the doomsday "tipping point" would come true. It is speculation that it would. PS- The world has been about that temperature before, the polar caps were melted and the world did not end.

Don't quote me on this, but for a few billion years the earth was growing these big trees and they eventually extincted themself, producing sulfuric acid, that lead to the next billion years of coal and oil creation (something like that). Having been a good physics student in high school, i worry about the drag of big windmills slowing down the earth's rotation....slow earth, less cooling, warmer earth.
