It will take those taking remedial classes to graduate a bit longer. More financial aid to stay in school. If deficient, could they offer remedial math courses to bring students up to speed? Question is, whether the students are sufficiently motivated to take/pass the remedial math class. And if not, are they really university material? or would a different direction be more productive?
Some majors don't need that much math.
Appraisers do need some geometry and algebra. When I took geometry in 8th grade, it was so hard. Same as Chemistry. First time I heard of atoms.
I didn't grow up prior hearing about geometry or atoms. The second time I took those subjects, I excelled. College was like relearning but in more details of the subjects in high school.
