20 Minute AI Appraisals Are Coming

I didn't think for a moment that you were, which leaves the first option as the apparent answer. :) I am certainly no expert, but I use AI daily. I use it to write code - both in r as well as Excel. I use it to fix errors in code. I use it to analyze data. I use it to extract data out of a PDF for a different format. I've used it to create new chord progressions for guitar and violin. I've even used it to analyze a story - although that was just for fun. It truly is a game changer. I suspect most mortgage underwriters will be out of a job within 3-5 years. I suspect AI will exponentially decrease the amount of time before driverless cars are mainstream. I expect municipal traffic control systems to adopt AI into their queuing algorithms. It really is that powerful.
You expect all these folks to be out of a job from AI- what do you expect they will do to feed their family when they and others are out of work?

If AI can replicate what a person does, why not just let the person do it?

This is an existential question that no one has been able to answer for thousands of years. Surely you meant this as rhetorical?

If that were the prevailing mentality amongst market participants, we'd still be riding horses to work.

I absoultey did not mean it as rhetorcial

If the project is within 5- 10 years (or similar ), massive amounts of people will be laid off due to AI_ why are we permitting that to happen?

If what AI does is basically replicate what humans do, then let the humans do their jobs. Save AI for medicine or sciences where supposedly it can do things that human can not do,

If masses of people are laid off, besides misery and social unrest, then who are the consumers that will pay for the products the companies plan on ake ing so efficiently?

Many great thinkers and analysts are urgently recommending that leaders develop proactive strategies to deal with the threat of Job loss from AI.

Btw, I've had pretty good success using AI to solve certain types of problems. Just released this which uses a bit of AI to parse order details from those crappy AMC/lender portals:

If anyone juggles a bunch of these order portals and wants to give it a spin and provide feedback to help me improve it, please send me a DM and I'll set you up with a free account in exchange for the help.
Made a little demo video:

Technology has created - and destroyed - countless jobs throughout history. That will not change and, in fact, has accelerated. It's not a 'bad' vs 'good' discussion. Its about the inevitable advance of technology. Ever seen the Matrix movies? What about Star Wars? Star Trek? The list goes on ad nauseum. The point is that human empathy cannot quell the advance of technology. Its inevitable. Think about the printing press - one of the first bits of technology to displace workers. And not 'day laborers' - the folks who copied texts were well educated people who could read and write. The press didn't care - it still took their jobs. And it changed the world. Information - in written form - was available to the masses for the first time in history. Then Henry Ford's automation WRT automobile production. Again - changed the world. You're stuck on whether its good or bad. Get past that. It doesn't matter whether its good or bad - technology will continue to create - and destroy - countless jobs. Folks have always adapted to the new normal - and they will continue to do so.

That is exactly the point. Rust doesn't sleep and neither do the bean counters or the tech-bros and the engineers.

Why does it have to be inevitable?
People can make decisions not to use certain tech - and it does become bad vs good - in the effects it has. Get past it? Get past it to what?
Some periods in history sucked, even if people "adapted " to it.

The amish eschew many aspects of modern life but their reasons for doing so have nothing to do with socialist politics or class warfare.
