Maybe Trump had other motivations for picking Carson. If so, I can;'t fathom it. Carson is a brain surgeon, then why not some other brain surgeon?

Trump is mocking everything about the office and democratic institutions, just as he did on his campaign trail.
He refuses to take daily intel briefings, saying he just needs one a week, because "he's a smart guy". He's appointing totally unqualified people to key cabinet positions. He himself has never held office, instead of applying himself to learning about it, he's on a self indulgent ego gratifying thank you tour where people can cheer for him.

If that was a democrat president elect pulling these stunts you guys would be all over it, instead, its all good. Can't wait to see what other nonsense you'll accept from him. I bet off camera Trump has contempt for his supporters too, what else would he think of people willing to accept such antics? His regard is for fellow billionaires who can enrich him/his family and strongmen like Putin.

AG: Eric Holder, only cabinet member in history to be held in contempt of Congress.
HUD: Julian Castro who admits he went to Stanford on an affirmative action program.
HHS: Sylvia Burwell a lifelong politician who started in Washington at the ripe old age of 28.
VA: Robert McDonald, actually a guy who did something outside of DC
Treasury: Jack Lew lifetime policy wonk.
Transportation: Ray Lahood, longtime Illinois political hack. Yes I know he's republican-still a hack.

What really strikes me as ironic is that 6-months ago, those who were arguing the other side is full of racists, haters, and will do anything to torpedo their side has now switched places, using tactics including smears, hate, and racism.

And the guy hasn't even taken the oath of office yet.

I have a new saying, which I made up (as far as I know) and which I will start to attribute to myself:

The left has a long history of playing the race card and plays it in an especially vicious manner when it comes to demeaning minorities who have a political point of view that is on the right, which is why they so viciously attacked Clarence Thomas when he was nominated to the Supreme Court.

I don't care what color or race or creed someone is who holds alt right extreme views are...imo such extreme views means a person is unbalanced.

.Carson ( and Thomas ) happen to be black. It is my opinion that Trump wanted to have a black person on his cabinet, (since his cabinet lacks minorities or females ), and so he chose Ben Carson for his far RW leanings, even though he is unqualified for the job . I don't see how that is playing the race card, I'd make the same comment about Carson no matter his race...I fail to see how being a brain surgeon qualifies a person to head HUD. ( I made similar comments about Trump white appointees who are unqualified for their agency posts.)
