ACI just down or out of business

ACI still not working as of this afternoon. I'm losing money left and right.

I think it finally time to buy new software. What did you guys switch to?
It is hurting your clients and borrowers also. They are losing money too.

Buyers/sellers/agents, Idk A bunch are losing money.

How do you close the loan?

I plan on speaking with Homeputer, myself. If the software does what it says it does I can't see any reason why not to take it into high consideration, especially because I am thinking ACI will eventually be back. Having Homeputer, at that price, as a nice back up would make sense. It's like appraisal insurance for that kind of money. However, no decision has been made yet...

Fannie/Freddie, closing lawyers, the list goes on who it is hurting.

Homeputer states that it has built in adjustment support. I wonder how good it is?

This is a forum for appraisers, I don't care about anything other than us right here and right now. I care about what we can do, and what we're hearing, what we're thinking. There's people all over the world suffering from any number of things, but you can find other places dedicated to taking up those causes. Here we're talking about appraisers.

I'm betting it's so good that our state boards will praise us for heavily relying on it! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!)

Seriously though, the product seems at worst to be decent, but it may be far better than that, too.

I understand. When I worked for UPS and a bank, all hell would have broke loose.

All I am saying is there are heavy hitters that are probably coming unglued.

Since FAF provides multiple services (appraisal, title work, title insurance, closings) and many times they are "bundled" together. If the appraisal is part of that bundle. It is just going to sit there until they can get the rest of the problems solved
