Alamode/corelogic/smartexchange - You Have A Right To Be Paranoid

We PAY for our MLS data, ( I pay close to 1k a year now in MLS dues), now Corelogic wants to charge us to get that same data recycled from another appraiser's comps in ALAMODE? How funny,

The other problem I have is why should I share my vetted research on the comps with area skippies so they can pump out more volume and underbid me, while if I get their comps through this system, I would still check the data and verify it ( because that is what we certify we do ). Plus other problems with it.

Please don't do it, please don't even use the trail basis...we are exploited enough, every time they try to "help" us be more "efficient" it ends up costing us money, and worse, costing loss of status as professionals and opens up the charge from clients and Fannie we are not doing our own research, just downloading it from others.

Unless you are the skippy, this will only help churn and burn skippies and hurt everyone else.

The ignorance of the power of data and technology by the users of this forum is astounding. What decade are you living in? Which FNMA changes have you not been paying attention to? It goes a long way in telling us all why we are in this predicament in the first place.. We appraisers have had our heads down on our keyboards for some time now with no representation. I don't blame you.. you're just a hard working lone wolf. But at some point you'll need to open your eyes.

It only accelerates from here. Luckily this small grass roots effort is making an impact already.

Corelogic is slime. Proven fact. And they sit on the IAC of TAF.

"SmartExchange rolls out this month to appraisers in Oklahoma City, Portland, Denver, and Dallas. Next month SmartExchange will launch as a nationwide network to all our TOTAL users. Keep an eye on your inbox for details on getting started"
Jay Shafer, executive, CoreLogic | a la mode

Available last month to 4 cities. This month nationwide.

Yet your fellow appraisers on this forum will believe and trust them before their fellow appraiser like you who has done their homework.. smh

Fellow appraisers? ha

Now you see them, Now you don't.

Yeah... Just get ready to be sued by your own MLS when they find out you gave permission for CoreLogic to re-sale their data.

Another point to bring up is that appraisers should already be notifying their MLS that this is going on as CoreLogic has already scrubbed proprietary MLS data from your reports to be re-sold for a profit. This was done WITHOUT your permission and is a DIRECT violation of copyright laws. I have already put my MLS on notice of this scam.

You can't fight the big boys like CoreLogic. But you can talk to local boards who already have lawyers on standby ready and willing to send a cease and desist letter.

The MLS in Austin where I live is already run by Corelogic.....so there's that....
