All Solar, Et Al, In 12 Years?

Electricity has an origination and a destination. It's call load balancing. Too much blows up the grid, not enough causes brownouts and blackouts, either can damage transformers and motors. Excess electricity can be shunted to ground if it can't be turned off.

Another reason why you should not trust government math.

Hillary Clinton: If Elected President, I’ll Shut Down 50,000 Public Schools
"I wouldn't keep any school open that wasn't doing a better than average job."
http://thefederalist.com/2015/12/22...president-ill-shut-down-50000-public-schools/

Uhm,

it's impossible for "all" to be "better than average" because what is average moves up with greater accomplishment.

So just say you're going to close the bottom performers, which would then additionally move "average" higher.

Oh screw it, just say anything that sounds good to sheeple.

Awe, here we go.........

Air pollution linked to children's low academic achievement
Date:
August 27, 2015
Source:
The University of Texas at El Paso
Summary:
A new study on children's health has found that fourth and fifth graders who are exposed to toxic air pollutants at home are more likely to have lower GPAs.

It's not really the schools fault, there are just too many stupid children, because their parents drive cars.

Now that's plausible, right?

Darn private school education.

California 2014 Power Generation

2014 California Power Generation.jpg

http://energyalmanac.ca.gov/electricity/total_system_power.html

Notice that only 5.3% of the total in state power generation is solar however, solar drops to 4.2% of the total when out of state mix is figured in to represent the total of all power.

It is going to be very expensive to convert 50% of the total power generation to renewables.

California renewable energy resources by law has to be 33% of total procurement by 2020. That goes to 50% by December 31, 2030.

All that solar that Nevada built can be sold to California. The demand is going to be huge and renewable power will be bought at any price.

Got solar panels? Firefighters shocked

Two firefighters were shocked by a rooftop solar panel while trying to extinguish fire at a home.

Water is thought to blame for shock

PG&E crews were responding to shut off power to the home

When called to a fire, firefighters better check to see if the structure has solar panels and shut off power before using water.

SolarCity halting sales, installation of rooftop solar panels

Net metering changed from 11 cents a kilowatt hour to about 3 cents and doubling flat service rate.

For existing customers, the new rates will be implemented gradually over the next four years.

SolarCity’s statement calls the PUC’s order a “massive bait and switch.”

http://lasvegassun.com/news/2015/dec/23/solarcity-halting-sales-installation-of-rooftop-so/

Too funny, all those save the planet people are getting what they deserve. And, rooftop solar sales will go to zero which is why solar companies are out of business.

Wonder if California will go the same way? It is only a matter of time. Suckers! :rof:

"Unstoppable" California Gas Leak Now Being Called Worst Catastrophe Since BP Spill

According to the California Air Resources Board, methane — a greenhouse gas 72 times more impactful in the atmosphere than carbon dioxide — has been escaping from the Aliso Canyon site with force equivalentto a volcanic eruption for about two months now.

http://www.commondreams.org/views/2015/12/21/porter-ranch-gas-leak-catastrophe-not-seen-bp-oil-spill

I wonder if Pete realises that methane 72 time more of a greenhouse gas than CO2? :)

I wonder if the climate scientists will calculate how much the world temperature will increase because of this release of methane equivalent to a volcanic eruption just with 2 months time? :rof:

Wonder if Duncan read Post #1826?

While methane is a more potent greenhouse gas than CO2, there is over 200 times more CO2 in the atmosphere. Hence the amount of warming methane contributes is 28% of the warming CO2 contributes.
