Las Vegas Songwriters Festival

Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, NV, United States | Ages: 21 & Over

I think Mandalay Bay is an underrated hotel - prolly cuz its at the end of the strip.

Come on party with your favorite AMC Representatives, new Uad cloud software providers, Revva, and all the winners are going to be there. Jump start your career and start to win biggley again. Lol )

I attended the AMC Expo last year, and your post pretty much sums it up. For the most part it isn't an event for indie appraisers, but I'm glad I attended because it opened up my eyes to how screwed indie appraisers are. Funny thing, I really thought about returning this year with my wife because she likes Vegas. I was on the fence and if the AMC Expo would have followed up and offered a paying customer an incentive that may have put me over, but indie appraisers are not their target audience. Not a single "Thanks for attending", "How did we do", "Did you enjoyed it" or "We would love to see you back" email, just the spam they generate for everyone.

I think of it as a Trade Show to give appraisers an excuse to go to Las Vegas but it's a tax deduction vacation and if your actually making money it's not a bad way to go. I never took wife because she doesn't gamble and hates Las Vegas. For me I'm kinda burned out as I would go up every 6 months for 35 years.

I attended last year as well. Your summary is spot on. I’m shocked we didn’t get any follow up survey or an invite to this year’s expo, even a we noticed you haven’t signed up yet email.

There is nothing there for independent appraisers. It’s pretty much a revaa event at this point.

I knew someone that went at least 10 to 15 years ago, this was back when they gave a **** about the independent appraiser and rotated between Vegas and other areas of the country where appraisers could actually attend. It was exactly what an appraiser convention is supposed to be, he picked up about three new clients that he kept until he passed away a few years ago.

And they make you pay double - expensives as **** to get onto the tradeshow floor, and then there apparently was another fee you had to pay to go listen to speakers. I should’ve known an event catering to appraisers would be one where they fleece the ever loving **** out of you and nickel and dime you to death. :rof:

Oh well, live and learn. And Caesars sucks. The only good news is I lost 8 pounds in three days because I couldn’t afford to eat in that hotel. Didn’t want to make the mile walk outside where the chicken sandwiches aren’t $35. Also out of fear that I would slip and fall on a drug addict’s needle.
