Apex Sketch - UAD 3.6

They said" Apex 6.0 will not work for UAD 3.6 as a sketch-provider and that I would have to pay an additional $449 and $189/year thereafter to use Apex 7.0 on UAD 3.6 software......?
This doesn't sound right. I'm using Apex 7 with SFREP. Everything works fine. I paid $149 to upgrade in 2023 and an additional license for $150 in 2024. This was the total price for a download, not a subscription. Once, a while back, I had someone from Apex tell me they only had a subscription plan. When I called back to *****, I got someone else and it was no problem. YMMV

ACI sketch is not as good as APEX. What they had during beta testing was unusable. Its been a while since I tried it, so it might be better now.

It read like apex would kill it's program on your computer. It wants that monthly get rich subsciption fee. I run apex seperatly now and insert the sketch page into the report. I don't see why you can't do that with 3.6. Apex wants your eternal monthly fee. They could kill your apex 6 program. Well, they say they will.

Thanks Guys - I am going to use Apex Version 6.....until they "take it from my dead hands"....or something like that
Like I said before - the Apex guy I talked to was a little....fishy

I’ve been using apex and Bradford for many years. Paid a 1 time fee. I surely hope I can still use it.

I bitched n moaned about the basic ACI sketch program when I had to start using it a few years ago. Although about 5% of the sketches corrupt and close the report without saving the sketch, I personally don't think any sketch program could be easier and more functional than it...especially if the other software providers are charging a premium for sketch upgrades.,,[Point being is that if I PERSONALLY can make it work, pretty much anybody else can do so as well!!!]

AI Overview

Yes, Bradford Technologies offers a free built-in sketching app called Inspect-a-Lot. It is a field inspection and sketching tool designed for the iPad that allows you to draw layouts, calculate Gross Living Area (GLA), and sync data directly into your ClickFORMS desktop software. [1, 2]
Here is how the free sketching setup works with Bradford:
  • Inspect-a-Lot App: It is free to download and use for all active ClickFORMS membership levels. You can sketch using your finger or the on-screen keypad to measure perimeters and define areas. You can download the Inspect-a-Lot from the Apple App Store. [1, 2]
  • Integration: Your sketches and photos sync from your iPad through the cloud straight into your ClickFORMS desktop appraisal reports. [1, 2]
  • AreaSketch & Apex: If you prefer using standalone sketching software on your PC, ClickFORMS also natively integrates with external programs like AreaSketch and Apex Sketcher. [1]
I have been using Inspect-a-Lot for over 10 years. Great for sf homes. Not good for condos and 2-4 family properties; too much info not covered in program.

The sketcher program is 100% useless and told Bradford so.

I keep hearing 3.6 requires interior room dimensions and walls but Fannie Mae's website regarding UAD 3.6 states:

A floor plan is required for the following:
• all property data collections,
• hybrid appraisals,
• desktop appraisals, and
• traditional appraisals when the layout of the dwelling unit(s) is atypical or
functionally obsolete, limiting the appeal of the property in comparison to
competitive properties in the market area.
A footprint sketch can only be used for a traditional appraisal if the layout of the dwelling
unit(s) is not atypical or functionally obsolete.

So I'm a little confused

You do not seem confused to me. :) It seems you have it sorted out correctly. As I have said several times now, when you hear "UAD 3.6 requires...." the best thing you can do is verify it with the source, and you have done that.

I haven't has any of my APEX sketches corrupt. I like features that APEX has that ACI doesn't and doesn't plan to have. I checked before I bought APEX. The abomination in 3.6 is not like the ACI sketch in 2.6. Because ACI sketch is workable.
