Are Staff Appraisers paid customary and reasonable fees?

I have no idea what you're talking about. Getting work is as easy as signing up for AMC panels online. Approaching people who work at banks. You make it sound like we run a fruit stand.
#1 you do not form a residential fee shop when your clients are AMC's. Thats why most fee shops became registered AMC's or shut down , and became one or two man operations. . :) LOL

Fee shops are a thing of the past. I managed an appraisal panel. Most are independent and work out of their house. Even if you are in an appraisal shop, nobody lets you swap around residential orders anymore.

Refer to tagline below:

I think there is significant demand for valuation services that is something else than is being produced under GSE requirements. I believe this due to the way non-GSE lending appraisal departments are operated and the standard fees they are willing to pay. For the most part they are getting something that is not too different than what is going to the GSE.

For those that are in 20's or 30's or even 40's, there is a lot of opportunity for residential appraisers in the Non-GSE lending space. Just have to go for it.

People aren't oranges. The wholesaler's business doesn't function without labor. Yes, society runs in such a way where you either work or starve. But it doesn't have to. We have accumulated unfathomable wealth. The USA throws away 206 billion pounds of good food every year, but we also spend $111 billion on food stamps. Our system sucks because people like you treat human beings as commodities to be bought and sold. We don't even promise full time workers a single week of holiday!
Actually, we don't sell people as commodities. But we do sell our time/labor for whatever the market will bear. You are the sole owner of your time/efforts, and nobody can take that from you.

God Bless America

Well, actually, Jeffrey sells his time/labor, but then reserves a part of it for himself. Kinda like selling every third orange to a second customer!

I'm taking some of the $$$ for the training and for my time reviewing each assignment. Of course the trainee is going to be paid less than the supervisor. Say it gets to a point where all that I have to do is give the trainee an order and then review it at the end. I would pay the trainee 80% of the total fee. No expenses paid for though. If I have to be there for the inspection, the trainee would get 65%-70% depending on distance to the subject.
That is unfair. You keep 20% of the fee for your knowledge and experience. That sounds like an older worker making more than a younger worker.

I think we have some double speak going on within your numerous posts.

Its all BS :)

If someone can explain how paying someone more for being older makes sense, then I'll listen. Haven't heard a single actual argument. If I can do the job just as well as the 50 year old, why does the older person deserve more pay?
My appraisals have gotten better over the decades. So as my experience.
However, I'm slower in doing the reports and hate to admit, more error prone. Glad there are reviewers.

I'm training the person to eventually do my job. They are taking some of my experience with each order. I'm signing the report. They will gladly pay for that. I said previously that I will help them go on their own as soon as they are certified. I'm not being contradictory at all.
