He is going to be there to teach about HVCC, not about IndyMac. I hope people remember that.
You are joking right? That's is even worse. I do not care how of a nice guy you think he might be, look at the bigger picture Smokey. What benefit does the HVCC do to protect the public or improve the profession?

He'll be answering those questions.

Lets see, he now works for an AMC, went against copyright laws, defended AIready format. I am sure his answers will be short.

Objectivity-an important concept.

pump and dump

[QUOTEI dont think they envisioned having "their" bank taken over by FDIC. Something did in fact go wrong ... the only question that remains to be answered is exactly which players were instrumental in that "wrong" ... I do believe it will eventually be learned though.[/QUOTE]

There's a cynical side of me which makes me believe that it was all part of a plan to "pump and dump" the stock, leading to the bank's ultimate collapse. When senior executives get to exercise stock options at inflated stock prices, and such compensation dwarfs their salaries, there is no incentive to restrain the production of loans. As far as the commercial side was concerned, I was not allowed to order or reject a single appraisal. They required me to approve every appraisal that I didn't order, and when I refused to approve a few....well, you know the story.

As for Brad, I didn't know him. Perhaps Joyce is right about the "drinking the KoolAid" part.

The HVCC benefits the public by making the distance between that person being paid a commission and the person ordering the appraisal greater.

Second point. It IS NOT INTENDED TO SAVE APPRAISERS JOBS OR RAISE YOUR FEES. The reason you get paid low fees is because there are more appraisers than needed.

I find it quite disturbing that many here fail to understand that point. :new_all_coholic:

DB and CP, I understand that point very well. But when you still have those adding thread after thread about how very little has changed with these AMCs, HVCC seems to be just another ploy to gather the herd and instill fear. They knew exactly what they were doing. I really believe that all of this was being set-up and were waiting for an opportune time to implement it. I have been fallowing many of these threads for years and the heated debates and many of the veil threats by these insiders, and after awhile you understand what they were talking about. They knew this was comming.

All this started with E-Appraisit. Has anyone been prosecuted, gone to jail, fired after what was exposed from AG of NY? NO! Luckily I have not been greatly effected by the HVCC. I still have some good clients and they avoid AMC's as much as possible.
