Just got a call (about 1:15 local) from GreenPoint to verify that I had actually performed and signed an appraisal that went throught a local mortgage broker. It kinda shocked me but he clarified that there have been some cases where someone had used another appraiser's name to do and collect on an appraisal but it was not the signature or the appraiser. Don't be surprised if you get one. More for FYI.

I agree - asked him if he could see a car in front of the house - stated yes - I said it was xyz brand - yes - and I stated it was mine for future reference - he stated "that's old school and you always park in front of the house!?" Yes Sir! I do!

Hint for the new ones in the business.

I do the same thing Otis. My car is in all street scenes. I think I had 1 exception last year where I had to park way down the street. 99% of the time, if my car isn't in the street scene pic, I didn't do that report.

Gosh we are a sneaky bunch.

I thought that I was the only one who made sure his car was in the pictures somewhere. Guess it goes to show that great minds run in the same channel.

Great minds or paranoid? :P
Hey! I resemble that remark!

You just have to figure out which one!  :rainfro: :rainfro:

Otis I too have received this type of call from Greenpoint's HQ. IN fact, I was asked on about 5 jobs if I had done the work, etc. Apparently, there has been widespread abuse of name and signature forgery (imagine that).

I am glad to see a lender ACTUALLY take positive steps.

But I think it stems from a fraud case/lawsuit and they are just covering their behinds.

GOOD!!! They all should be thinking about this!

Likewise...car in photos.

"I am glad to see a lender ACTUALLY take positive steps."

SOMEBODY'S gotta do something about the sweatshops--they're EVERYWHERE!
