Frustrated with HVCC, big banks, and low paying AMCs devastating your profession?
There are more of you than them. Why doesn't every appraiser boycott every AMC for a week? The banks are making money off you. More and more banks are turning to this as a way of generating more money for their coffers. Let them know they couldn't function without you and start demanding some respect. Everyone just go on vacation for the week, thus unable take orders; it's the summer.
Start posting demands that can be complied into a letter to these lenders and AMCs. Start the discussion, email it, make it viral, boycott, and demand a change.
However, the only way for the banks to get the message is to have a massive number of appraisers boycotting at the same time nationwide. This thread is to organize this boycott. Email this thread to every appraiser you know who wants to change things. Get everyone you know involved. The date will be released soon.
Let us stand together with one voice and demand a respect for the profession.

:rof::rof::rof: The old Appraiser Union Thread revised .... sorta ....

This has only been discussed/tried a hundred times on various forums. I would suggest an alternative.

Get all of the local appraisers in your area to boycott them. What do you care what is happening in a state a thousand miles away? Be successful in one small area, then come back and report the results of that success. That will hopefully motivate others across the states to try the same thing...on a local basis. Pretty soon, the tide could be turned.

Starting locally is a lot easier to organize. Good luck

This is not a union thread. It is better. Imagine what would happen to the banks' bottom line if appraisers did this. "I can't take orders this week; I am on vacation." Think about it. It is not an impossible task. How long do we have before every bank uses HVCC to generate funds from the appraisers?

I am all for a local boycott. Post your area, email your connections, and as a local group generate your demand letter to the lender. Gather together people. You have power in numbers.

I'm already boycotting them. What are YOU doing supporting them for the other 51 weeks?

First of all, this type of thread typically is started every 4-6 weeks. Contacting a local group of people does really no good since "appraisers" are driving 150 miles to do "appraisals".

Good luck on the endeavor but I have seen no less than 20 of these threads started.

Please don't shout. I don't use AMCs either. But I believe that enough appraisers both locally and nationally are willing to step up and do what is right for the profession. I am sure you have a lot of pride in the hard work and years you put into being an appraiser. Why should any appraiser stand by allowing this to happen? I am sure many of you know an appraiser who is willing to be a voice for the many in your local area. Contact and spread the word. Don't just type on forums but form your groups and become the activist that these times demand.

:new_sleeping:

How about instead of boycotting, we just accept orders with reasonable fees...

What is reasonable to one would not be to another. That is where a locally organized committee would come in with their demand. What is reasonable in their area, boycott, and demand it as a group? This boycott can rely on the foundation of local groups banding together to organize and create their letter of demand. With a boycott by all groups, lender will be hit at all sides.
