exactly. If they can use ID photo scans to dispute quality assessments by humans, allow AMCs to send the lower bidder to the job, then they can make the case to eliminate all appraisers and argue that they are protecting the loans from default by their own credit checks etc.

I'm all for that with the caveat that if FNMA loses money due to a credit collapse like 2008, then the salaried employees of FNMA shall be guilty of economic treason and be executed by firing squad, including the CEO, board of directors, and any "appraiser" who was to vet the properties in house.
