Class Action For The Theft Of Appraisers’ Data

Something to keep in mind that goes way beyond copyright. It is not going to be long before the heavy hand of Government comes into play on a lot of things regarding privacy and the data associated with you as an individual.. We use to be able to avoid sales tax by purchasing on the internet, ebay and such. Facebook and Google are coming under fire. The Net Neutrality thing is getting real big. Don't know where I stand on that.

Copy right is a dead issue. The horse left the barn long ago.

I will wait for a legal opinion. I didn’t know so many appraisers were legal experts.

Be careful posing as a legal expert.

Point blank, need a lawyer.

Well, Louisiana has several.

This whole antitrust issue just got started. Be patient.

don't forget to include yourself in the count for appraisers who think they are legal experts. you have about 10,000 posts on here spouting off about antitrust issues and who is right and who is wrong, and last time anyone checked you are not an attorney, or are you?

look at all these wannabe judges might as well hand them the gavel touche

Well you have a point to some degree, but its not valid. You don't have to be a lawyer to express your opinion of a law that affects you personally. Yes, copyright and trademark laws are complex. Seriously, where do you get off telling anyone on here that they can't express their opinion and or interpretation of any law?

Right or wrong they are entitled to express their views. Free speech is fundamental to our nation as a people. That's whey we have the 1st amendment. Think about that a moment. Why is free speech right an amendment to the constitution? Simple because it was left out of the Constitution and was an after thought. The significance of the 1st amendment is that it includes the right to petition your government.

Let's go directly to your point in the post I quoted above. You unwittingly are trying to suppress the thoughts of other posters because their not attorney's, yet you never have identified yourself as an attorney. So what makes your opinions more valid?

Here is an example; All of us voice our opinions/interpretations of USPAP. Lets assume none of us are attorney's. Does this automatically make all our opinions worthless?

Sometimes you disappoint me with your comments, I am sure you occasionally find my comments disappointing. Peace!

Who cares if someone's a lawyer or not? Last time I checked, both the wining side and losing side of issues have lawyers. I care about what judges say, not lawyers. And even judges opinions are overturned every day. One judge has his opinion and the next court overturns it, doesn't make either right. Opinions? Where have I heard that word before?

If we think our industry is a mess, check out the court system.

There aren't black or white answers to most issues. Which is why lawyers get rich and cases keep going forever. It's in their best interest to keep them going.

Most of us know what's right and what's wrong as far as our profession. And we know we've been wronged. I don't need a lawyer to agree or disagree.

Me thinks lawyers more than anyone know how stacked the (judicial in particular) system is against the average Joe.

I notice that when something happens, be it amazing or devestatating and/or anything in between the two, people in response will often exclaim OMG.

The next best thing to resolution of a calamity when it comes to moving mountains is a good lawyer. And While most of of do know what’s right and wrong - Those with the most power to manipulate, circumvent, change or create laws to their favor - keep lawyers on retainer.

IOW, OMG - get a lawyer!

you need to step back and look at the history on this board. eli is constantly telling everyone who is and who is not violating things like antitrust law, then steps back and accuses others of the same action, namely acting as an attorney when they are not. this is nothing new. he has been doing it for years. i never said anyone needed to be an attorney but when he does it's time to call him out on it.

no one said anything about free speech until you did, especially me, so you can save the soapbox speech. i am not suppressing anyone, i merely turned his tables on him and asked him about being an attorney, something we all know already isn't true but doesn't stop him, nor should it. if you are going to live in a glass house don't throw stones.
