Construction crews not showing up

I would certainly be doing construction instead of appraising if I was younger
If I was younger I would either get back into being an electrician or go back to doing concerts. But both of them are physically demanding. That is assuming that the appraisal climate was as it is now.

I'm all for people getting paid more. It is going to make everything a lot more expensive though.
But your not looking at overall cost benefit analysis..example a Male illegal in Los Angeles has two or more children and a wife or baby momma who LA Unified Schools are paid per student the same citizen or illegal..then County Medical and Evt Cards etc. Total cost in LA is estimated at $40,000 per undocumented family and most pay sales taxes but no Federal tax. A net loss so the cost of construction actually goes up and since we have a housing shortage the millions if undocumented push rental prices up. There is no such thing as cheap illegal labor except at one point in the model.

My rehab partner say the mexicans want more money now that our citizens. Heard that before from house clearners.

So that would mean that there are Americans willing to do the job for less but they don't get the job,

No, it means that general contractors are always looking for cheaper. There was so much business in the last 10 that mexicans were hired. That being said, they have been slowly undercut by the central and south american workers.

I guess the old lingo of Supply & Demand motivates everyone. A few guys I know would work for $15/hr a couple of years back and now want $25-$30/hr for the rising costs of food, gas, and rent. Everyone feels the increases across the board. All except those dumbnass appraisers, they just don't understand how it works...........

I've seen videos of people supposedly walking into Lowes/Home Depot and it's empty but I think they may be fake. Around here they are still filled so I don't know

Home Depot has lower prices. But going to Lowes is like going to a County Club.....it's so clean and organized. They're definitely working with a skeleton crew though....there's no one in sight to help you.
